How do I prepare for my waxing experience?
Exfoliation and hydration are incredibly helpful to prepare your skin for any waxing experience, and it is suggested to exfoliate well 2-3 times a week prior to any waxing. This can be achieved with a body scrub, sensitive formula exfoliant, or with a simple washcloth. Moisturize daily with scent-free moisturizer.
While we use a gentle-formula wax and do everything in our power to make your experience as comfortable as possible, no waxing is completely without discomfort or temporary pain. For those who are coming for their first waxing experience or who are extra sensitive, an Ibuprofen prior to starting may be helpful. Caffeine is discouraged the day of, as it can cause the waxing experience to be more painful. Be kind to yourself and your body - hydrate, exfoliate, and be mindful of things that may make the session not as pleasant.

Hair should be at least 1/8th inch long, or roughly as long as a grain of rice, at the time of session. This helps ensure that the waxing experience goes smoothly, as hair that is too short may not be properly grabbed by the wax. If the hair is longer than a grain of rice, please do not feel the need to trim! Your waxing specialist is more than capable of handling longer lengths.
Pre-waxing timeline:
24-hours prior | Cut-off time for exfoliation
~12-hours prior | Shower and dry; cut-off time for moisturizers
Day Of | You'll be given a wet wipe to clean the area prior to starting wax

Can I be waxed on my period?
Of course! Your cycle is not a problem for our professionals, we just ask that a tampon or cup be used during any intimate waxing session. Please be mindful that menstruation can cause the waxing experience to be more uncomfortable, as your skin may be much more sensitive during your period. If it is your first intimate wax, it might be best to hold off until after your period, but it is your decision.

Can I be waxed while on medication?
Certain medications can accelerate your skin's exfoliation process, and therefore could cause increased unpleasant side effects. If you are currently on or planning to start any of the following medications, your waxing specialist needs to know:

Accutane | Adapalene | Alpha Hydroxy Acids | Alustra | Avage | Avita | Azelex | Clindamycin
Coumadin | Differin | Doxycycline | Isotretinoin | Madifloxicine | Metronidazole | Minocycline | Plavix Renova (Retin-A) | Tazarac | Tazarotene | Tetracycline | Tretinoin | Erythromycin

If you are on ACCUTANE or have taken Accutane within the last six months, waxing will need to be rescheduled. When in doubt, ask your dermatologist for advice.

Can I be waxed while pregnant?
Of course! We will do everything possible to make your waxing experience as comfortable as possible during your pregnancy. As with all things pregnancy-related, it's always a good idea to check with your health-care provider for your specific pregnancy needs, just to be on the safe side.

Can I tan before waxing?
It is best to wait 24-hours after sun exposure to receive waxing. If you have a sunburn, your waxing will need to be rescheduled.

Can I be waxed while experiencing a contagious condition?
If you're currently experiencing any contagious skin condition, such as poison ivy, herpes, shingles, etc., please call us at 972-775-8998 to reschedule. We will not be able to perform your waxing while experiencing an active case.

Can I request trauma-informed consent during the waxing experience?
We understand that everyone brings their own unique needs and hesitations to the intimate waxing experience. We have several options to help aid any anxieties that may be present, including: weighted blankets, extra coverings, an option for no coverings, with or without pillow propping, no talking option, the option for constant briefing on what is happening, alternate position options, and the option to be asked prior to hand placement for every pull. Whatever your needs look like, we are here to make YOU comfortable - let us know what helps put you at ease and we will do our very best to accommodate. Please feel free to reach out prior to your session if you require extra care and feel anxious about waiting to communicate specific needs.

What should I wear to my waxing session?
Loose fitting clothing is your friend. While in your intimate waxing session, the upper body will remain clothed. Should you want to add armpit waxing, kindly wear a tank top or equivalent.

For bikini line and full leg waxing, bathing suit bottoms or underwear may be worn. Please be advised that post-wax oil may affect any clothing worn.

After Appointments
What does the post-wax care routine look like?
You will need to take precautions and be mindful of how your body responds to certain activities post-wax. Your pores will be more susceptible to bacteria than normal, as they will be open for 12-24 hours after waxing. Touching the area, tight clothing, and salt (sweat) can cause irritation, and activities that introduce bacteria to the area can cause red bumps and, in some cases, infection. A general rule to live by is to wait 24-hours before any strenuous activity, but listen to your body.

Post-waxing timeline:
24-hours | Take it as easy as possible - lukewarm bathing, no exfoliation, no exercising or sunbathing.
48-hours | Avoid excess heat. No exfoliation. Warm showers okay. No strenuous activities.
72-hours | Gently exfoliate to help avoid in-grown hairs. Return to normal life.

Can I participate in a 5k or exercise after waxing?
As long as your marathon/5k/tournament/etc is not scheduled for the first 48-hours after your waxing experience, you should be clear. All skin is different, though, so for those who are extra-sensitive, maybe think about scheduling a day earlier than usual in preparation for your next marathon.

Can I tan after waxing?
After waxing experiences, delay sunbathing or tanning for about 72-hours, as waxed skin is more sensitive and therefore prone to burning. Receiving a spray tan? Best to wait 24-hours after waxing.

How often should I be waxing?
You are perfect exactly as you come, with or without waxing, but we are here for you and your waxing goals, needs, and preferences! Intimate waxing is a highly personal decision, so we respect your individual journey.

To experience all of the benefits of waxing, including hair refinement and less painful waxing experiences, feel free to schedule any time your hair is 1/8th inch long. Sometimes this is as quick as three weeks, sometimes its closer to six weeks. Generally a four-week time frame is advised.
